We've been working incredibly hard over the past couple of months, with tension, stress and then a HUGE sigh of relief! The new website is LIVE. Thanks to all the wonderful people at Zoovy.

To celebrate the relaunch, we'll be doing some great deals over the next week. Today, ending midnight EST the Horka Quilted Coat/Vest is only going to be $65.00! Personally, I LOVE the zip off sleeves, and this model has been going vast from our mobile unit as well. It is definitely that must-see coat, and the dirt resistant coating, yeah, I've needed that :). And machine wash, line dry!

Sweet itch, flies, musquito's and the horse

Oy, sometimes I feel so sorry for one of our horses! It seems like the bugs just prefer him over any of the other horses around. On top of that he has sweet itch. The problems is that the bugs that cause sweet itch are tiny and easily penetrate the standard and sturdy flysheets. In order for a fly sheet to prevent or minimize the exposure to Culicoides the sheet has to be fine. That is why I love this fly sheet from Harry's Horse; it is very fine with a reflective color, so the sun does heat up the horse. It attaches to the halter up top, I've also attached it to a fly mask. The tail flap is long, just where they scratch the most. I know my horse is a lot happier with this sheet then he has been in a long time!

O lala..... just opened the Mountain Horse Supreme Field Boot! The quality of the leather is just absolutely FABULOUS! I immediately had to do the touch and feel. Show breeches for the curvaceous equestrienne

Done, I did it, finished! I have added the full seat horse show plus size horse show breeches. So if you are a plus size womanly rider and are looking for those fantastic breeches, here they are! These breeches are made with spandex, so forgiving of a few flaws, not that any of us have any of course, but for the rest of us. The material is really like the sweat pants under breeches, yet of a quality that one can expect of an upscale brand like Horka.

There is a great blog on the Chronicle about fashion for the curvaceous female rider. I was disappointed to see that there was no mention about Horka, and the great clothing they have for the curved equestrienne.

Finding a nice quality of pants like the Plus size Knee Patch or the Plus Size Full Seat breeches is not easy, and many of the more upscale brands are not willing to dive into that market.

Walleroo sun hat Sophia for kids

So incredibly cute! Personally I love the walleroo hats, and I think they are really stylish, and because they fold and are washable, they are perhaps, THE most essential horse show accessory, especially if you are showing in this incredible heat. You want to make sure you are protected against the sun.

The walleroo 'Sophia' is super cute with the fairy on it. Girls will love them, it will keep them cool, and protect against the sun.

Basic Horse riding packages......

Got a great question from a customer this morning. Do you have any basic riding sets? For a young child to start out? Sure do! The very basic thing to have to start riding is of course a horse riding helmet but don't forget about other like breeches or riding pants, or a cute set of gloves and half chaps! We have plenty for the young rider to start out!

Off they go..... it sure is time again for camp season, and what is more fun then going to care for horses and ride some ponies! Of course you have to be outfitted with just the right stuff! Everything from half chaps, riding gloves and breeches we have just the right thing your child needs.

I sent our cousin off with one of those backpacks, a total success!

National Helmet day,..... don't forget your toddler or youngster!

This coming Saturday, 10th of July is national helmet day! And in that light I got a question from a customer earlier today about fitting a helmet for her toddler. Her daughter has a small head (of course) and she was wondering if she could just use a bike helmet. Sounds tempting doesn't it? Well guess what, a bike helmet is not up to ATSM/SEI standards with regards to Equestrian sports. Be safe! Don't forget your child with a great looking toddler pony helme t!

Heat wave, flies & riding.... the ultimate exercise fly sheet

Oh, my, this heat wave here in the Northeast! I find it hard to keep cool while outside. I'm sure people in the South are laughing about all of this, as it is more the norm for them. It is not normally this hot here and my horses are trying to stay cool in the shade, with this small breeze we have. I'm glad there is at least a bit of a breeze, as we are totally haunted by flies, bugs, mosquito's and the works.

On days like these I'm glad I ride in this horse exercise fly sheet. OK, so we look like an alien, and sure the other horses have their eyes bulging the first time, but with this fly sheet we are simply not bothered by the bugs and can even have a relaxed ride. Can you imagine, a horse barely bothered by the flying enemy? The saddle recess fits great around the English saddle and with the stirrups out.

My rides have greatly improved, so much less tension. I have worked the horse nicely at a comfortable walk, trot and canter. Now the only thing left is me....... I'm the target now :(

Jeans-style full seat riding breeches-review

I have finally finished adding all the 'Karin' breeches to the website. These breeches are made by Horka, and are the new style. I have to admit I kinda like them :). They are of a slightly thinner fabric, but very comfortable to ride in. And with the pockets styled like your favorite pair of jeans, you simply can't go wrong. They also come in a ton of GREAT colors.

So are you watching 'more to love'?. A more realistic 'reality show'. It is very hard for the plus size rider to find fashionable and distinguished horse riding breeches. Horka has now come with a line for the womanly-sized rider. The breeches come either in full seat or knee patch in the colors black, tan and a beautiful distinguished dark chocolate! As always with Horka, you can expect a great fit! And the fabric is just wonderful, like wearing sweatpants, but then fitted with a little bit of lycra to assure that panty lines, and to smooth things out just a little :)

So in the next few days or so, I have a shipment of about 300 breeches arrive here. I checked their flight status (LOL) and they arrived @ JFK yesterday AM. So now I just have to wait till they get here. In the mean time I have been re-arranging and updating some of my existing pages on the website, and wanted to mention these. A nice pair of cotton knit breeches and the color tan is quite right for the show ring. And they are at a good price @ $64.50.

Spandex H/J Show Breeches

I go to alot of shows with my tack and breeches, and just by profession I look at everybody and what they are wearing, what is in, and what is not. How do certain styles look on people, what is the fit etc etc. I just want to make sure that I find what makes us look good.

And *poof* there are the spandex breeches! I have purchased several styles of this material, because no matter what style, or body type, size 24R to 44R, this just makes things go in the right place, and it doesn't add bulk. Anyways, to make a long story short here is the link to the H/J show breeches, for now just in tan with Euro Seat (yeah, what you saw @ WEF!), rust and olive may come soon!

Toddler/Youth Jodhpurs

These Jodhpurs are totally cute, yet they are made with European standards. They fit correctly, and don't interfere with developing a seat for a youngster. And isn't it amazing when you see those young ones sitting on their little pony, don't you wish you had a seat like that. Age and lack of flexibility does change our bodies!

The material is soft, and it has a super cute print/design on it, so it is fun to wear too! The jodhpurs come from size 2T to 6; the standard colors are Pink and Ice Blue, but each season they are also available in many other colors, please check the store to see which colors and sizes we currently have available!
